Referral Information

Commercial Policyholders

Your PCP will refer you to an NHP specialist when necessary. However, NHP offers direct access to certain specialties without a PCP referral. You may visit an NHP provider from any of the following specialties without a PCP referral, as indicated below.

Services Available without Referral
Chiropractic - Limited to 12 visits per calendar year
Gynecology - Five visit limit per calendar year including one well woman check up*
Podiatry
Dermatology - Limited to 5 visits per calendar year*
Alcohol/Chemical Dependency Services provided through United Behavioral Health (UBH). Call 1-800-817-4705
Mental Health Services Services provided through United Behavioral Health (UBH). Call 1-800-817-4705

* Additional visits with a referral from your PCP.
